¿QUE PASO CON LOS MERCADOS CAMPESINOS EN FLORENCIA

En medio de la Pandemia y el paro nacional que cerró las vías de acceso al departamento, nos quedamos sin huevos, pollo, verduras, panela y muchos otros productos. Estábamos comiendo lo que había. Pero aparecieron los mercados campesinos y nos salvaron.

Todos aplaudíamos y salíamos en masa a los lugares donde los campesinos se instalaban para comprarles los huevos, el pollo, las verduras y todo lo que sacaban de sus fincas. Eran los grandes héroes de ese momento, pero ya todo eso pasó.

Ahora los mercados campesinos están en el olvido y a punto de desaparecer, los sacaron de las plazoletas de Gobernación y Alcaldía, los mandaron para lugares ocultos, poco transitados y sin la posibilidad de vender. Ya pasó el paro, ya vuelve a haber de todo.

Otra vez se están perdiendo los productos en las fincas, se están dejando de producir pollos, cerdos, pescado y las huertas se han empezado a caer de a pedazos, no vale la pena producir en el campo si no hay un espacio donde vender.

Es increíble el nivel de hipocresía de los gobiernos departamental y local, en campaña iban a comprar a los mercados campesinos, pero apenas subieron, los mandaron a sacar de las plazoletas de sus edificios.

Se han llenado la boca hablando de invertir en el campo y no han hecho nada para mantener algo que ya venía funcionando, que estaba creciendo y que tenía buena aceptación de toda la ciudadanía. Sus intereses son otros, no el pequeño productor.

Y aquí hay que mencionar de igual manera a la Asamblea Departamental y al Concejo Municipal, dicen representar a los campesinos, pero no hacen nada por ellos, solo aprueban y aprueban lo que los mandatarios presentan, pero poco supervisan. Varios se han olvidado de sus electores.

En las administraciones, se ve por encima del hombro a los pequeños productores y se ayuda y beneficia a quienes producen leche y ganado, generalmente. Y no es que sea malo, pero hay que apoyar a los que producen el resto de la comida.

Un departamento que no resiste un mes cerrado y se queda sin comida, con una extensión tan grande como la que tiene, necesita una verdadera inversión en la producción de alimentos.

Y nosotros como beneficiarios de los mercados campesinos, necesitamos levantar la mano para hacer sentir algo de apoyo a los paisanos que se asolean y mojan para traer que comer a la ciudad.

Por estos días de campaña se escuchan promesas de acueductos, puentes y vías, cosas que difícilmente llegaran. Pero muy poco hablan los candidatos de apoyar a los pequeños productores del campo.

Una lástima que ni a la Florencia Biodiversa, ni al gobernador campesino, le importe el trabajo y sustento de todas estas familias y de la seguridad alimentaria.
