Ocho policías y ocho civiles resultaron heridos en medio de un enfrentamiento en Cimitarra, Santander. La agresión se presentó cuando diez uniformados de la estación del municipio llegaron al sector de la avenida de la Paz para atender un llamado de la ciudadanía por una riña.

Un video aficionado muestra cómo, desde el separador, varios hombres lanzaron piedras contra los policías. Además de los heridos, varios locales comerciales resultaron afectados.

El comandante de la Policía de Santander, coronel Franklin Cruz, indicó que los heridos “fueron trasladados al Hospital Integrado San Juan de Cimitarra”.

De municipios vecinos, fueron enviadas ambulancias para apoyar el traslado de los lesionados. Los de mayor gravedad fueron llevados al hospital de Barrancabermeja.

“El hospital de Cimitarra solo cuenta con una ambulancia y tampoco contamos con un servicio de emergencia médico, lo cual deja al municipio mal parado en materia de salud”, afirmó Henry Riaño Castillo, alcalde de Cimitarra.

Asimismo, el mandatario señaló que se debe “darle una pronta solución a toda la problemática social que viene incrementando en el municipio de Cimitarra, debido al crecimiento del microtráfico”.

Los hechos tuvieron lugar en la madrugada de este domingo, 13 de febrero de 2022, y, por tal motivo, se decretó un toque de queda en el municipio.
