La vicepresidenta Marta Lucía Ramírez confirmó desde Cartagena que el presidente de Estados Unidos, Joe Biden, no visitará el país durante el mes de diciembre como se había anunciado.
La canciller dijo, al ser consultada al respecto, que la decisión obedece a la situación que afronta el mundo ante la llegada de la nueva variante del Covid-19.
“El presidente Biden que iba a venir el 12 y 13 nos pidieron aplazar, posiblemente, hasta enero también porque con el Ómicron han resuelto no salir ahora en Estados Unidos”, detalló.
La vicepresidenta Ramírez señaló que el gobierno colombiano está a la espera que se de una nueva fecha para la visita del mandatario estadounidense, y que sería en enero.
“Esperamos que el presidente Biden nos de fecha nueva que aparentemente será en enero”, puntualizó.
