Iglesia católica denuncia que el ELN tiene confinadas a unas 4.000 personas en el Chocó

La Iglesia católica denunció que unas 4.000 personas están confinadas por el Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) en el departamento colombiano del Chocó.

«En esta zona los integrantes no se pueden movilizar , todo entra allí por el río Tamaná o por San José del Palmar, pero están cortadas las vías, nos podemos imaginar lo que está pasando una población de cerca de 4.000 personas, en aquella parte del medio y alto Samaná», denunció monseñor Álvarez en Noticias Caracol.

Es por esto que monseñor Álvarez pidió un corredor humanitario que llegue hasta esas personas y adujo que esta acción por parte del ELN sería para presionar un diálogo con el Gobierno.

«Todo esto obedece al dominio del territorio y presionando, pienso yo, queriendo llegar al Gobierno Nacional e instancias internacionales para acelerar el diálogo, para que los escuchen en todo lo que este grupo pretende, pero termina sucediendo que los civiles se convierten en escudos humanos y terminan pagando esta situación», afirmó monseñor Alvarez.

Asimismo, expresó sus deseos de que, con los acercamientos de algunos líderes sociales, la iglesia y entes de control como personerías, se pueda tener un corredor humanitario para poder suministrar alimentos y medicinas a estas comunidades confinadas.
